Ase (ah-shay): The Saturday Academy is an independent African-centered enrichment program in Philadelphia which works with sixth and seventh grade students on Saturdays during the school year. The Ase curriculum is diverse and intensive, concentrating on analytical skills, reading comprehension, public speaking, writing, and personal and social responsibility. Courses include areas such as African cultures, Poetry and Activism, Career Preparation, Business Development, Mathematics, Literature, Arts, and much more.

The Ase program is housed in W.E.B. Du Bois College House on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania in West Philadelphia. Du Bois College House is a residential facility dedicated to the study and appreciation of peoples of African descent worldwide.
