The Politics and Cultural Pluralism (PCP) Program was established in 2002 in response to students' desire to explore relations between African Americans, Whites, Latinos, Asian and Native Americans in the 21st century. Housed on the fourth floor, the PCP program is dedicated to fostering intellectual growth and allowing students to voice their concerns regarding diverse issues such as race, politics, and culture in an open forum. Thus, PCP members bring differing world views as well as varying cultural backgrounds to the program. From forums with leading activists and scholars to community service programs, the PCP program touches on a wide variety of areas. Through activities and programs such as these, the PCP program seeks to become a politically and socially conscious force in the Du Bois College House, as well as throughout the broader Penn community. Under the guidance of Cannae Dirl, Director of the PCP Program, this year's most significant PCP accomplishment is the establishment of a Penn chapter of the NAACP.
