Black Life-Making at Penn in a BlackLivesMatter Era

What:

Situated at the DuBois College House, this presentation and panel will seek to build an intergenerational forum at Penn (undergraduates, graduates, and faculty) to discuss the possible futures for “Black life making” in the Penn community, which postdoc scholar Jalil Bishop defines as “naming the ways Black people pursue education as a pursuit of freedom.” Honoring the legacy of Dr. DuBois with his ties to GSE and his foundational, interdisciplinary scholarship, we seek to grow connectedness across the University, cultivate avenues for mutual support, and leverage engaged academic study as a pathway to social action for a more just world.
