Radical Self-Care: Centering Wholistic Wellness with Dr. Nkemka Anyiwo

What:

Radical Self-Care is a W.E.B. Du Bois College House biweekly series hosted by Dr. Krystal Strong where we explore the intersections of social justice & self and collective care with activists and cultural workers.

On Sunday 4/4, we will be joined by Dr. Nkemka Anyiwo. Dr. Anyiwo is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Penn Graduate School of Education. As a scholar and advocate, her research focuses on understanding the sociocultural factors that promote the healing and empowerment of Black youth. Dr. Anyiwo's research is grounded in her own experiences as a youth activist, an artist, and a leader. For more than a decade, she has served in several leadership roles in cultural and social justice organizations, including The Chi Collective which is a cultural platform for creative expression, spiritual growth, and wholistic wellness that is unapologetically rooted in African cultures.
