UMOJA has paired with Why Not Prosper, founded by Reverend Dr. Michelle Anne Simmons in 2001, it is a grassroots nonprofit established by a formerly incarcerated woman to support other formerly incarcerated women through Pre-Release Mentoring, workforce educational services, and other service programs at their Resource Center in Philadelphia. For an upcoming service event, we will assemble feminine hygiene care packages for incarcerated Black women in Philadelphia. We're looking for donations such as pads, tampons, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, and toothbrushes—all items must be travel-sized.
